The brief
Where it started
A young couple who entertain often wanted their dining room to feel like a destination, and to complement the kitchen next to it. They also needed somewhere to put the things every home has but nobody wants on display.

BeforeThe decisions that made it work
3 decisions, and why I made them.
01A statement wallWalnut millwork runs the full wall, giving the room its presence and setting the tone for dinner with friends.02Made to match the kitchenThe millwork was designed to complement the kitchen, so the two rooms read as a pair rather than competing.03Storage you don’t seeBehind the walnut sit pantry overflow and cleaning supplies, out of sight and within reach.

Finished, and lived in
My clients moved in and made it theirs. No staged photo shoot, just a home that works the way it was planned to.
