Growing up in a small town (one general store, more farmland than people), I spent most of my childhood painting murals on bedroom walls and moving furniture until the floor plan made sense. Hardwood floors paid the price. I don't regret it.
In 2009, I made it official. Professionally trained in Interior Architectural Design in Victoria, BC, I've spent the years since working with homeowners across Vancouver Island, Calgary and Vancouver, on everything from new builds and gut renos to rooms that just needed a clear direction.
What I couldn't figure out for a long time was where I fit in an industry that often felt more about the designer than the client.
I didn't want to build spaces that looked impressive in photos but didn't hold up to how people actually lived in them.
So I stopped trying to fit that mold.
HART HOUS exists for the people who want their home to feel like them. Not a trend, not a showroom, not someone else's idea of beautiful. My job is to translate what you're picturing (even if you can't quite articulate it) into something real, functional, and built to last.
