Concept rendering · A HART HOUS design.
The brief
Where it started
My client had done her research and knew what she wanted from her townhouse living room: storage, a place to display the things she loves and somewhere to sit by the window. My job was to pull it into one piece of millwork that felt considered, not crowded.

BeforeThe decisions that made it work
3 decisions, and why I made them.
01The window seat anchors itA built-in seat under the window grounds a tall oak bookcase beside it, giving the room a quiet, personal focal point.02Asymmetry on purposeOpen shelving, a black glass display cabinet and a low media console are deliberately unbalanced, so the wall feels collected over time rather than off the shelf.03Access designed inElectrical access is planned into the millwork, so cords, chargers and media stay hidden and reachable.

Finished, and lived in
My clients moved in and made it theirs. No staged photo shoot, just a home that works the way it was planned to.
